Here, you will be able to witness one of the most average, madden games of all time. To set the background, me and Del are friends that met 4 years ago when he was a recruit for Marist College. The day had started as me showing his girlfriend, and parents around the beautiful marist college. We started off in McCann center and walked all the way to the Foy townhouses (talk about a walk). Of course, I had to be on my best behavior and show him a fantastic time because as a host, it is my responsibility to make sure that he has the time of his life. I was able to answer all kinds of questions about the type of aids that are given to football players, and was able to describe a typical day as a Division-I football player. After the tour, Del and I went back to my on campus house and that’s when I was actually able to show him the life of a college kid. I asked him, “Do you play madden?” and his response was “The question is do YOU play madden?” We both laughed and ever since that point, a friendship was born.
Now, to talk about the video you will be watching. This video has to do with Del and I using our terrible hometown teams in a friendly game of madden. I was the Cincinnati Bengals, and he was the New York Giants. What we decided to do was be commentators, but with a mix of being streamers. What that means is that you will be able to see how we both knew facts about the players, but were still talking a little bit of trash at the same time. We wanted to be like Ninja, but with a Chris Collinsworth and Tony Romo mix. Due to madden games taking forever, we were able to play a half of a game, and let the best, worst team win!
When recording, we used the playstation’s capture feature to record the video and make sure that it was as high in quality as possible, and we mixed that by using the playstation podcast app to record the background audio. So by doing that, we were able to hear the actual commentators on the game, the hits, and crowd while also hearing our voices overtop of it all. It was pretty cool learning how to mix the sounds so that one was not more dominant than the other. Also, you can see that in my youtube video, you can hear background music on it as well so that you do not get annoyed with just hearing our voices. Overall, this experience was a lot of fun, and knowing how much work editors put into movies and things of that nature, they have my respect. My video was a little bit under 8 minutes, and that was after taking a 18 minute video, and cropping the unneeded parts. Now imagine what kind of work these producers have to do with movies that are 2-3 hours long! Mind blowing!!
